I.                   This program is intended to support professors, associate professors and assistant professors at universities, as well as researchers at related academic institutes in the 10 Mid-west States, who are planning to visit Taiwan and do a research related to Taiwan.  

II.                Each grant recipient will be provided with a U.S.A. – Taiwan round trip economic flight ticket, and a daily research subsidy of 200 US Dollars for up to the maximum period of three weeks, including the days of arrival and departure.

III.             All applicants should submit the following documents to this office:

                            i.                a proposal (including her/his visit schedule) ; 

                          ii.                a completed application form;

                        iii.                an approval letter from the university or institute s/he is affiliated to.

IV.             The applicants will be informed of the consequences one month after their applications have been submitted.

V.                Each grant recipient has to submit two copies of research report to this office within two weeks after s/he returns to America, and to complete her/his visit and research by November 30, 2010.

VI.             Disbursement of subsidies:  Seventy percent of the subsidies will be disbursed to each successful applicant thirty days prior to her/his departure for Taiwan, and the remaining thirty percent after the submission of her/his report.
